Florida 70.3 Ironman
This 6th annual Florida 70.3 Ironman took place literally in the “happiest place on Earth”. The weather was lovely and the course included a 1.2 mile swim in Bay Lake at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, a 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run along Disney’s Wilderness Trails and Roadways. As a spectator you are able to see the starts, transitions, and finishes all throughout the day. You are feet away from the pros and age-groupers alike as they compete and take their place among other honored half Ironman finishers. It’s truly a humbling experience to witness such outstanding athletes gather and push their passion for this sport to the limit. Congratulations goes out to Poncho Smith who, despite a freak accident went on for a strong finish!
